Introspection

A former client and friend from a previous position recently had a child with some heart issues.  Over the past couple of weeks I have been tracking this baby’s progress through regular Facebook updates from my friend.  According to the last update, the baby may not need a heart transplant and just might get to go home soon!  Throughout this ordeal, my friend has expressed his faith in God.  As a fellow Christian, I want to commend him on his willingness to openly share his beliefs.  His recent behavior has been yet another inspiration for me to get back to my core principles.

My second daughter, Kyra, was born just 7 months ago.  I love this little girl, and my other daughter, Gretchen, with an intensity that is indescribable.  I can’t imagine the angst and turmoil my friend and his wife have suffered over the past few weeks.  My heart is torn to shreds when I think how challenging their baby’s first few days have been.  It has reminded me once again of a theme from a previous blog: Perspective.

The only advice I have today is to live life fully!  Be grateful for all your blessings.  Remember to share your feelings, especially with those closest to you.  Don’t take tomorrow for granted, and never underestimate the human spirit.  I dare you to reach down deep within the secret side of you, where just the simple truth remains and pull it to the surface. Examine it, study it, ponder it, and then embrace it.  Go after your dreams with all your passion.  But, remember most of all, to be thankful for the gifts that were given to you along the way. May God bless you!

FS, you and your family are in my prayers!
