It’s August. It’s hot. That means only one thing – it’s time for the Missouri State Fair.
The annual Sedalia shindig kicks off on Thursday and runs through August 23. Gov. Jay Nixon extolled Missourians to go out to the event today at a press conference in Jefferson City.
Beyond the fun attractions, Nixon said the fair is an inexpensive leisure activity during tough economic times. He noted that it only costs $1 per person to enter the fair on Thursday.
The fair will also feature a performance next Saturday from country super-group Brooks & Dunn. The popular duo is breaking up after several decades of hits.
