Now that the new version of the Columbia Business Times has been available publicly for a few days, and we’ve just completed the 20 Under 40 Awards presented by Moresource, I’d like to introduce you to another architect of this massive change, and tell him “Great Job!”

The new editor of Columbia Business Times is Brian McNeill. He was instrumental in developing many of the new ideas and features found in the revised CBT. A few months ago when Brian first started, he made a fairly significant change to the old cover as a prelude to the new format he envisioned for the CBT. He removed the text on the front cover and enlarged the photo/graphic. It immediately caught the attention of many people in the business community and I heard on several occasions how pleased people were with this change. Little did they realize how much more was left to come!

Brian’s a talented writer, as you may have noticed over the past few issues. In addition, he’s always looking for additional ways to improve the CBT and has already added some unique insights on various stories seen in the pages of the November issue. If you haven’t seen it yet, I’d encourage you to pick it up. Brian and his editorial team did an excellent job creating a new publication while preserving the heritage of the brand.

At today’s 20 Under 40 Awards, I heard many compliments about the new look and features found within the pages. I know Brian would like to hear what is on your mind and if you have something you think might be newsworthy to the business community, feel free to reach out to him via email with your suggestion. He’s a great guy and I’m glad he is a part of our team! You have to admit, it’s pretty impressive that he’s breathed new life into the CBT in just the first 6 months of his tenure.

Well done, Brian!
