Another Farewell

Posted by Joe Schmitter on Monday, December 14th, 2009 Categories: Uncategorized
I just wanted to take a moment to commemorate the life of Jim Rohn who left us on December 5th.  Everyday I look at an inspirational print on my desk featuring one of his quotes, “Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.”  One of my goals for 2010 is to become even more well versed [Click Here]

Because I took my time with this and have very distance publication dates, my Droid review was scooped by the business dept over at The Columbia Daily Tribune.  But last Wednesday I got to sit down with Regional President of Verizon Brendan Fallis and the new Motorola Droid. Last Wednesday I sat down with Fallis in [Click Here]

I feel like an old grump always complaining about the various acts of lunacy I see committed when it comes to customer service & store policies. At the same time, I want to ensure that you, my faithful readers, don’t make the same mistakes in your business.  Please forgive me for yet another negative post, [Click Here]

In this weeks edition of CBT Tracy and I wrote about Sparky’s homemade ice cream. While speaking to an unidentified Sparky’s source this evening, I wanted to confirm Sparky’s will not close November 1st specifically, but rather at some point this fall as the weather dictates. Sparky’s will then reopen when the temp warms back [Click Here]

Should the city use federal funds to build a bike boulevard on the northeastern edge of downtown? That’s one of the big questions the city’s elected officials and administrators will answer this week. The City Council will consider the bike boulevard proposal during the public hearing segment of its meeting tonight at City Hall. The boulevard would [Click Here]

An Unexpected Surprise

Most people typically pick up a corn dog or a funnel cake when tranversing around the Missouri State Fair. But state Treasurer Clint Zweifel is offering up something completely different – unclaimed assets. Zweifel announced yesterday that his Unclaimed Property Division will set up shop at the Sedalia extravaganza. It will be open from 10 a.m. [Click Here]

Posted by Jason Rosenbaum on Friday, July 31st, 2009 Categories: Uncategorized
In between listening to my favorite musical tunes, I’ve heard many radio advertisements lately promoting the so-called “Cash for Clunkers” program. The initiative – formerly known as the Car Allowence Rebate System – is a congressional initiative meant to spur consumers to trade less-than-stellar vehicles for newer, more fuel efficient cars. The program offered anywhere from [Click Here]

Schaefer unsure of motorcycle helmet override

Posted by Jason Rosenbaum on Tuesday, July 28th, 2009 Categories: Uncategorized
Gov. Jay Nixon’s decision to strike down a bill allowing motorcyclists to ride without a helmet was arguably the first-term chief executive’s most high-profile veto of the year. Motorcycle enthusiasts have been trying to alter the law for decades, arguing the regulation is a limitation on personal freedom. This year, legislators passed a bill allowing motorcyclists [Click Here]

Getting some green for a new green machine

You may have heard the ads for the “Cash for Clunkers” and wondered why all of the dealerships are offering $4000.00 for used cars. “Clever” car ads withstanding, not a lot of noise was made after the Consumer Assistance to Recycle and Save Act (CARS) of 2009 was signed into law.
